The wildlife at Tamandari is one of the key features. Every day you can enjoy an abundance of animals and birds that call this sanctuary their home.

Among the daily visitors are wallabies, many of whom have been hand-raised orphans. Don't be surprised to see one of these fascinating animals come up to the house for a scratch under the chin and a handful of almonds! And watch in amazement as her joey takes a peek at the world from her pouch.

It's a real privilege is to observe the resident wallabies interacting with the mob and see mothers grooming their young. With no cats or dogs on the property and very few natural predators, the wildlife has been able to co-exist undisturbed...to be enjoyed as nature intended.

These days, koalas have become something of a rarity. Tamandari is fortunate to have a group of koalas who visit regularly, especially during the mating season. Walking amongst the tall eucalypts on the property just a few metres from the house, you may get the opportunity to observe koalas taking a nap in the branches.

A register has been compiled of birdlife spotted. These Rainbow Lorikeets visit daily and can be seen here on the rear deck over-looking the vegetable garden. The lorikeets, honeyeaters and king parrots come to feed on seeds and nectar in the many grevilleas, acacias and other native plants on the property.

After dark, go for a walk to sight brush-tailed possums leaving their nesting box or catch a glimpse of graceful sugar gliders as they swoop through the trees. The Land for Wildlife status means Tamandari has been developed with the native flora & fauna in mind.
