Quality fittings throughout
 |
The quality of construction and
design is second to none. With three generous sized
bedrooms, two large bathrooms, open plan living and
dining rooms, a study/sunroom and an additional
indoor studio, there is ample room to accommodate
all your family's needs.
Reverse cycle air conditioning keeps
you comfortable all year round with the added
benefit that the house has been designed to take
advantage of passive solar heating and cooling. With
many of the rooms being north facing you can wake to
the sound of birdsong on a winter's morning as the
sun streams through the windows, while during the
summer months the home remains cool due to its
structure and design.

Wildlife on your doorstep
 |
There is an incredible variety of
wildlife to be found at Tamandari, including koalas,
gliders, possums and resident wallabies. Native
birds are attracted by an extensive planting of
trees and shrubs. Nesting boxes too, provide homes
for wildlife. Scores of different bird species have
been sighted, including owls, black cockatoos,
rainforest pigeons, channel-billed cuckoos and
wedge-tailed eagles. If you enjoy fishing, the dam
has a stock of yabbies and silver perch which make
excellent eating!
Tamanadari lies on the migratory path
for many birds and butterflies who each year head
north to Asia. Sit on the deck and watch as clouds
of beautiful butterflies pass through. If you love
wildlife, this property is has it all.

Seasonal colours
 |
The Mary Valley climate affords
seasonal changes, unlike that of coastal neighbours
only an hour away. Glorious purple wisteria bursts
into flower along the front verandah announcing the
beginning of spring. Heavy fog sometimes hangs over
the valley at first light, gradually clearing to
reveal bright, sunny days.
During summer numerous grevilleas
display their beautiful blossoms and the fragrance
of native Frangipani fills the air. Jacaranda trees
are a delightful mass of colour. As autumn
approaches, majestic liquid amber trees lining the
driveway change from green to gold and then to
russet - a spectacular sight, usually reserved for
the southern climes of Australia. |

produces an annual bounty of fruit. Grown on organic
principles with an easy maintenance irrigation
system installed, you can enjoy delicious apples,
peaches, nectarines, plums figs, jaboticabas, limes,
mandarins, oranges, grapefruit, pawpaw, mangoes,
pecans, bananas, mulberries, blueberries and more...
A fully fenced vegetable garden is
protected from wildlife and designed to be easy to
manage, while giving the benefit of delicious fresh
vegetables and herbs.

Spectacular Views
 |
No matter where you are in
the home, you are surrounded by stunning
views, clean air and a feeling of peace and
tranquility.
String out a hammock, swim in
the dam beneath the river gums or enjoy a
spectacular sunset on the deck.
In 2005,
Tamandari was the chosen venue for an
outdoor wedding. The views, ambience and
special location helped make this a
memorable day for the happy couple and their
international guests. |

Hundreds of native trees planted
|
 |
Since its inception,
Tamandari's owners have been committed to
restoring a large portion of the property to
woodland to provide a wildlife haven and
regenerate forest for future generations.
Despite a nation-wide drought, the tree
planting has been successful with many of
the trees reaching maturity.
A large number of tallowoods and koala
species have been planted to provide food
and habitat for one of our favourite
marsupials. Casuarinas attract both white
and black cockatoos. Rainforest fruits and
under-storey plants draw rifle-birds,
whipbirds, white headed pigeons and other
birds to the property.

Ample water
 |
Tamandari's forty metre long roof collects
ample rainwater to regularly fill the 10,000
gallon water tank, designed to service all
of Tamandari's household needs.
A large dam,
just metres from the house is used to
irrigate the vegetable garden, orchard and
newly planted trees on the property. This is
also a great place for a cool dip on hot
summer days.
A bore providing excellent
drinking water is used for back-up. |
